Start Thanksgiving With a Family Tradition, 35 Years Running

Join us Thanksgiving morning for the 35th Annual Turkey Bowl at Tel Hai Camp & Retreat. The 5K (3.1 mile)  is a cross-country type race that takes you through our camp and around our lake. Kids 12 and under can run a half-mile Fun Run on the main grounds of camp. It has a mixture of paved, gravel, and grassy paths. Includes some hills.

This year our event will be back to the usual format. We will have a Mile Children’s Fun Run which stays on the main campus. The 5k race will follow this and the course will start inside the main part of camp and follow a route that will take runners around the lake and up through the woods of our camp.

TURKEY BOWL 5K AWARDS

Trophies, Medals, and Something for Every Kid

• First-place trophies for the overall male and female 5K finishers
• Medals for the top three male and female finishers in each 5K age group
• A Finisher’s Medal for every child who completes the Fun Run

5K age groups (men and women): 11 & under, 12–14, 15–18, 19–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–69, and 70 & up

Results are posted by Second Wind Race Timing after the race.

• Parking: Park in the field by the lake on the north side of Beaver Dam Rd. Carpooling helps a lot.
• Restrooms: Available on site

Registration

• Online registration: Register at RunSignup. Online registration closes Thursday, November 26, at 9:00 a.m.
• Race-day registration: Online only

Costs

• 5K Race: $30 through November 12, 2026; $40 after November 12
• Children 10 and under: $10 discount on the 5K
• Children’s Fun Run (half-mile): $10. Kids running both races pay only for the 5K. Mom or Dad may run alongside their child at no charge.

Race Morning

• 7:45 a.m.: Registration and packet pick-up in the camp Dining Hall. Preregistered runners pick up bibs and T-shirts at the Pre-Registered table at the back of the Dining Hall.
• 9:10 a.m.: Children’s Fun Run
• 9:40 a.m.: 5K Race
• After the 5K: Refreshments, awards, and door prizes drawn for participants who are present

Awards & Results

• Finisher’s Medal for every child who completes the Fun Run
