Christian Retreat Center

A Retreat That Matters—Without the Pressure on You.

A Christian retreat center on 150 acres in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch countryside built for church groups of 15 to 200 to step away, slow down, and meet with God.

Why Tel Hai

Built for ministry leaders, not just bookings

Most retreat venues hand you keys and walk away. We come alongside your retreat from the first inquiry through the last meal because we’ve been doing this for 75 years. And we know what makes the difference between a weekend that fades and one that sticks.

A team that handles the details

From booking to setup to last-minute schedule changes, our staff partners with your retreat coordinator, so you can focus on leading your people instead of managing logistics.

Set apart from the everyday

150 acres of woods, fields, and a 7-acre lake. Far enough from cell signal and to-do lists for your group to actually unplug and close enough to home that you don't lose half a day to travel.

Trusted by groups who keep coming back

Many of our partner churches and ministries have been retreating with us for 17 to 43 years. That kind of return rate doesn't happen by accident. It happens when a venue does what it says it will do, year after year.

Booking a Retreat

From inquiry to your last meal, here’s how it works

Booking a retreat at Tel Hai is straightforward. We’ve walked thousands of groups through this process, and we’ll walk you through it too, at your pace, with whatever questions you bring.

Tell us about your group

Send us an inquiry with your group size, preferred dates, and your goals for the weekend. We’ll respond within two business days with availability and a recommended package.

Confirm your booking

When you’re ready, we’ll send a contract with your dates, lodging assignments, meeting spaces, and meal plan. A deposit holds your weekend on the calendar. Bookings can be made up to one year in advance.

Plan the details

We’ll share planning resources, including sample retreat schedules, our 9 Tips for Planning a Retreat guide, and a Guest Group Detail Sheet, so you can plan with confidence. Your retreat coordinator will be in regular contact with our Guest Services team in the weeks leading up to your weekend.

Show up. Lead. Rest.

When your group arrives, we’ll have everything ready, including beds made (in Beechwood), meals planned, meeting rooms set up, and activities staffed. Our team is on-site throughout your stay so you can focus on the people you came to lead.

Retreat Planning FAQs

We accept bookings up to one year in advance. If your group is currently retreating with us, let us know within two weeks of your retreat if you would like to rebook for the following year. We’ll do our best to secure a similar weekend and returning groups may receive a 5% discount when the deposit rolls over.

Lodging, three meals a day, meeting room access, and use of most recreation areas are included in your base retreat rate. Adventure activities (challenge course, zip line, climbing wall) are priced separately based on group size and activity selection. See our Retreat Rates page for current pricing or request a custom quote.

Yes, we host multiple groups simultaneously when capacity allows. Shared spaces like the dining hall are managed so each group has its own designated tables, and meeting rooms are reserved per group. We ask that all groups be courteous and respectful of each other.

Our minimum group size is 15. Bring as many as 200, depending on the lodging and meeting setup that works for your group. Day-use groups (no overnight stay) have different minimums. Call our office to discuss.

Wi-Fi is available in all meeting rooms and in Beechwood Lodge. AT&T and T-Mobile generally provide the strongest cell signal on our grounds. That said, most groups find that being mostly off-line is part of why retreats work here.

No. We encourage guests to unplug and focus on time with the Lord and the people they came with  and to leave the everyday distractions behind. Most groups tell us this is one of the things they appreciate the most.
