Which lodging is right for your group?

Most groups have one or two questions in mind when picking lodging, including bathroom setup, bed type, and how the cabins are arranged. Here is the short version.

Private Bathrooms, Linens Provided

Best For: Women’s retreats, marriage retreats, leadership teams, family camp

Recommendation: Beechwood Lodge features 10 motel-style bedrooms with queen and bunk beds, private bathrooms, AC, and a fireplace lounge. It accommodates up to 40 guests and includes linens, two built-in meeting rooms, and handicap accessibility.

Bunk-Style Cabins with In-Cabin Bathrooms

Best For: Youth retreats, men’s retreats, full-church weekends, cabin-counselor models

Recommendation: Log Cabins, Goshen & Jaffa, Bethel, or Walnut & Maple. All sleep groups of 12 to 22 in bunks. Each cabin has its own showers and bathrooms, and all have room inside for cabin group time.

Lodge-Style with a Lounge

Best For: Smaller groups (≤16), leadership teams, staff retreats

Recommendation: Spruce Lodge has 4 bedrooms with a mix of double and bunk beds, plus a main-floor lounge with a wood-burning fireplace. Bathrooms are shared on the lower level.

A Private Cabin for Your Speaker or Pastor

Best For: Retreat speakers, group leaders, visiting pastors

Recommendation: Berea Cabin sleeps 3–4 people with a private bathroom. Often reserved for a retreat speaker or group leader, and offered free of charge to pastors and full-time ministry staff for personal retreats when not otherwise booked.

Log Cabins

Shiloh, Gilead, Kadesh, Maranatha

Four creekside log cabins, built in 2009, each sleep 16 in bunks with showers, bathroom, and a large covered porch overlooking the creek.

Capacity: 16 per cabin · 64 total across all four

Motel-Style Rooms

Beechwood Lodge

Beechwood Lodge, Tel Hai’s lodging option with the most private amenities, features 10 motel-style bedrooms with queen and bunk beds, private bathrooms, AC, and a fireplace lounge.

Capacity: Up to 40 guests · 10 motel-style bedrooms

Amenities: Queen + bunk bed per room, private bathrooms, air conditioning, linens provided, fireplace lounge, two built-in meeting rooms (Poplar 100, Chestnut 150), handicap accessible

Lodge-Style

Spruce Lodge

A four-bedroom lodge with a carpeted main-floor lounge and a wood-burning fireplace. Spruce Lodge is a good fit for smaller groups, leadership teams, or staff retreats.

Capacity: 16 guests · 4 bedrooms

Amenities: Double beds and bunk beds, 2 restrooms, 3 downstairs showers, carpeted lounge, wood-burning fireplace

Bunk-Style Cabin (Divisible)

Goshen & Jaffa Cabins

Two identical sides of a divisible double cabin operate as one large 44-person cabin or two separate 22-person cabins.

Capacity: 22 per side · 44 combined

Amenities: Bunk beds, showers and restrooms on each side, divisible into one or two cabins, well-suited for split-gender lodging

Bunk-Style Cabin

Bethel

A bunk-style cabin that sleeps 16 with a restroom and 2 showers. Bethel is a straightforward, comfortable, well-suited cabin for groups that want simple, clean lodging.

Capacity: 16 guests

Amenities: Bunk beds, restroom, 2 showers, simple bunk-style layout

Private Cabin

Berea Cabin

Tel Hai’s smallest cabin sleeps 3–4 people with a private bathroom. Most often used for speakers and offered free to pastors when available.

Capacity: 3–4 guests

Amenities: 1 queen bed, 1 bunk bed, private bathroom and shower, air conditioning, free pastor retreat use when available

Bunk-Style Cabin (Seasonal)

Walnut & Maple Cabins

The two newest log cabins, built in 2019 along the creek, each sleep 12 guests. Walnut and Maple cabins have showers, a bathroom, and a large creekside porch. Seasonal availability.

Capacity: 12 per cabin · 24 combined

Amenities: Bunk beds, in-cabin showers and bathroom, creekside porches, seasonal availability (warmer months only)

Primitive Shelter

Wilderness Camp Cabins

Wilderness Camp Cabins are currently unavailable. These three-sided wilderness shelters offer a primitive-style, back-to-basics outdoor experience.

Capacity: 10 per cabin · 30 total (3 cabins)

Amenities: Three-sided shelters, primitive setting, located in the Wilderness Camp area

Lodging amenities vary by building. Here is what you can plan on across the property and what your group should plan to bring.

Provided in All Lodging

Linens

Linens (sheets, pillows, towels) are provided only in Beechwood Lodge. For all other lodging buildings, guests bring their bedding and towels.

Accessibility

Beechwood Lodge is fully handicap accessible and Shiloh (Log Cabins) is also wheelchair accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs for your group, contact our office and we will help you plan the right setup.

Air Conditioning

Beechwood Lodge has air conditioning. Other buildings rely on natural ventilation and fans during warmer months.

What To Bring

Bedding (sheets, pillow, blankets) and towels are available for everyone in your group, except for guests staying in Beechwood. Campers must bring personal toiletries and a flashlight for evening walks between buildings.

Lodging FAQs

A few of the questions we hear most often from retreat planners and parents thinking through where their group will sleep.

Which lodging is wheelchair accessible?

Beechwood Lodge is fully handicap accessible in all 10 rooms, the common areas, and the route to the dining hall. Shiloh (one of the four Log Cabins) is also wheelchair accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs for your group, let us know during the inquiry process and we will plan the right setup.

Do you provide bedding and towels?

Linens (sheets, pillows, and towels) are provided only in Beechwood Lodge. For every other lodging, guests must bring their own bedding and towels. We’ll remind you of this in your pre-arrival materials.

Can our group be split across multiple buildings?

Yes. Many groups use a combination of lodging types based on group makeup. Common arrangements include youth in Log Cabins or Goshen/Jaffa, adult leaders in Beechwood, and a speaker in Berea. We’ll recommend the right combination once we know your group size and configuration.

Are any of the cabins air conditioned?

Beechwood Lodge has air conditioning. All other buildings rely on natural ventilation and fans in warmer months. Most summer groups find this works well given the property’s tree cover and creekside breezes.

Is there free lodging available for pastors?

Yes. When Berea Cabin is not booked for a retreat or summer camp, we offer it free of charge to pastors and full-time ministry staff for a personal retreat. Reach out to our office to check availability and reserve a stay.

Are Walnut and Maple available year-round?

No. Walnut and Maple are seasonal cabins, only available during warmer months. If you’re planning a winter or early-spring retreat, we’ll recommend year-round lodging options like the Log Cabins, Beechwood, Spruce, or Goshen/Jaffa.
